About Evoke Barbers
Four barbers in an arcade off Old Market Square, cutting hair the same good way every visit. Owned and run by the people holding the clippers.
The shop
Evoke Barbers is at 10 Flying Horse Walk, Nottingham NG1 2HN — inside the Flying Horse Walk arcade, two minutes’ walk from Old Market Square. Walk in when a chair is free, or book one ahead.
We are open Tuesday to Friday 10:00–18:00, Saturday 09:00–18:00 and Sunday 10:00–17:00. Closed Mondays. There is bottled water and Coke Zero while you wait.
The people
Daniel manages the shop and co-owns it, with more than seventeen years behind the chair. Gerald has been a co-owner since 2025. Gabi and Jack complete the team, both experienced barbers. Parents asking who is best with children are pointed at Gerald or Gabi.
What we do
Haircuts and skin fades, beard trims and shaping, hot towel beard styling, straight-razor shaves, kids’ cuts, and curly or textured hair cut to the curl rather than flattened wet and hoped for.
What we don’t do
No hair colouring, no bleaching, no perms. We would rather send you somewhere that does them properly than do them badly.
Students
Reduced rates Tuesday to Thursday with a valid student ID. No voucher code and nothing to sign up to — show the card when you sit down.
The point of us
The same cut, every time
Most people do not want a different haircut every few weeks. They want the one that suits them, done properly, by someone who remembers it. That is the whole idea here: four barbers who have done this long enough that consistency is the easy part, in a shop where you can turn up without an appointment and still be looked after.
A haircut is £25 and a skin fade £28. Beard work starts at £15, and a straight-razor shave with hot towels is £30. Everything is on the price list, with nothing added at the till.
