Curly hair is not difficult, it is just different, and a lot of barbers cut it as though it were straight hair having a bad day.
Curls, waves and coils all behave differently once they dry, which means the cut has to account for spring-back and for the way the hair sits when you are not holding it down. Cut it wet and flat and you will get home, it will dry, and it will be shorter and a different shape than you agreed to.
We will look at how your hair falls before we start, work with the growth pattern rather than against it, and check the shape as it dries rather than only at the end. You should leave with a shape that still works in a week, not one that only holds while it is wet.
Same price as a standard haircut — £25, or £20 for students Tuesday to Thursday. It takes longer, but we do not charge more for hair that happens to be curly.

Before you book
Do you cut curly hair in Nottingham?
Yes. Curly and textured hair is cut at the standard haircut price of £25, or £20 for students Tuesday to Thursday.
Do you cut curly hair wet or dry?
We check how it falls dry before starting and check the shape again as it dries, because curly hair springs up as it loses water.
Do you do perms?
No. We cut and shape curly and textured hair, but we do not perm hair.
Does a curly cut cost more?
No. It often takes longer, but the price is the same as any other haircut.
