Hot towels, pre-shave oil and an open blade. There are not many places left in Nottingham doing this properly, and it is the one service where the whole point is that it takes a while.
This is the traditional wet shave, not a beard trim. The face is prepared with pre-shave oil and hot towels to soften the hair and open everything up, lathered, then shaved with a straight razor — with the grain first, then a second pass for the close finish. Hot towel again at the end, then balm.
It is the best shave you will get and it is impossible to rush, which is rather the point. Twenty minutes of sitting still with a towel on your face is not the worst way to spend a Tuesday afternoon in town.
Worth knowing: because it takes a proper slot, this one is much better booked than walked in for. There is no student rate on the shave — it is a premium service and we would rather charge one fair price than cut corners on it.

Allow around twenty to thirty minutes. It is not a service we rush.

No. The £20 hot towel beard styling shapes and tidies a beard you are keeping. The £30 straight-razor shave takes the face clean with an open blade.
Should I book or can I walk in?
Book if you can. The shave needs a proper slot and we may not be able to fit one in on the day.
